In 2024, Abingdon Health reached significant milestones, cementing its leadership in rapid diagnostics. The company secured a £2 million contract to produce STD diagnostic tests, underscoring its expertise in delivering high-quality solutions.

Additionally, Abingdon Health unveiled a state-of-the-art analytical lab in Doncaster, enhancing its capacity for precise and scalable diagnostics. Internationally, the company expanded its footprint with a new commercial office and laboratory in Madison, Wisconsin, positioning itself to better serve North American clients and capitalize on regional growth opportunities.

CEO Chris Yates remarked, “This expansion brings us closer to our customers and strengthens our end-to-end value proposition for diagnostics.”

In 2024, Arcadia solidified its leadership in the global energy transition with $50M funding to scale its innovative community solar and energy data solutions. A key achievement was its partnership with Verse, providing organizations with advanced analytics and unparalleled energy insights to make smarter decisions and achieve measurable sustainability goals.

Arcadia also joined forces with to introduce the industry’s first transferable tax credit platform, streamlining access to tax credit markets.

A Year of Milestones and Growth

In 2024, Beereaders celebrated its fifth anniversary, solidifying its role in transforming literacy for Spanish-speaking students. Despite challenges in the edtech sector, the company earned two prestigious awards: Austin's International Startup of the Year by SXSW and Opportunity Austin. Top 24 World Edtech Startups by the F6S Community.

These achievements reflect Beereaders’ dedication to empowering students and strengthening partnerships in Texas and beyond. As CEO Rubén Arias remarked, “Most startups don’t make it, but we did!” With a strong foundation, Beereaders looks forward to further growth and impact in 2025.

The team also welcomed global attention with CNN spotlighting their work in Freeport, Bahamas, where Coral Vita’s innovative methods are transforming degraded reefs into thriving marine ecosystems. Co-founder Sam Teicher shared, "Restoring reefs is not just about saving marine life; it’s about securing the livelihoods of a billion people who depend on them."

In 2024, David Energy disrupted the energy landscape, raising $23 million in funding to scale its innovative GridTech platform. By leveraging real-time energy data and AI, David Energy empowers customers to reduce costs, optimize energy use, and integrate renewable resources seamlessly.

This achievement came during a high-stakes election year, as the platform empowered users to uncover how their purchases supported political campaigns, sparking widespread discussions about corporate transparency and consumer influence.

A highlight of the year was the launch of the "To the Moon" campaign, which took user engagement to new heights with a bold call to action: collectively redirect $1 billion in spending to companies that reflect users' principles.

Advancing Connected Cardiovascular Care

In 2024, MediCardia Health continued to enhance its digital health platform, focusing on connected cardiovascular care. A notable development was its partnership with Wearable Technologies, integrating their AI assistant, MAHI, to improve cardiology care.

Additionally, MediCardia released the HeartChart™ Mobile app, providing patients with access to their health data on smartphones, fostering personalized care and continuous engagement.

The company also received a prestigious CHF 50,000 grant from the Arcondis Foundation, furthering the development of its Essential Incubator—the portable, space-saving device designed to provide safe, thermoregulated environments for newborns in both high- and low-resource settings.

A multi-center study in the UK confirmed that the Essential Incubator performs as well as traditional models in maintaining normothermia.

Additionally, RPD Energy strengthened its partnerships with utility companies to integrate energy storage systems into regional grids, optimizing energy efficiency and grid reliability.

In 2024, Solar Holler continued its leadership in Appalachian solar energy, cutting the ribbon on a new 195-panel solar system in Gauley Bridge, WV, in partnership with the Appalachian Solar Finance Fund. This installation will save the town over $130,000, advancing the company’s mission to reduce energy costs.

The company also stood firm against proposed rate hikes by AEP and championed net-metering policies, ensuring fair compensation for solar producers in the region.

Ranked as West Virginia’s #1 solar contractor and the #2 residential installer in Kentucky, Solar Holler continues to drive sustainable energy solutions while fostering local economic development.

In 2024, Sunairio made significant strides in the energy sector, securing $6.25 million in funding to expand its cutting-edge AI-driven climate risk software. This milestone highlights the growing demand for advanced tools that help optimize grid reliability and support the integration of renewable energy sources.

Sunairio’s high-fidelity climate data platform continues to set the standard, offering unparalleled insights into climate risks and energy system performance. This year, the company partnered with Xcel Energy on a pilot project to simulate Colorado’s grid, improving planning for the variability of wind and solar power.

Lettuce Grow's loyal community of 140,000+ growers has already saved over 200 million gallons of water, upcycled 200,000 pounds of plastic, and prevented millions of pounds of CO2 emissions.

A Breakthrough Year

Highlights include the launch of Intellect EMS at 3ZERO3, a net-zero energy apartment building in Seattle, and the completion of a 1.8 MW solar and storage project on the Rincon Tribe Reservation in San Diego County, leveraging the Inflation Recovery Act.
